About Dollars for Scholars, a Program of Scholarship America

For more than 50 years, Scholarship America has helped community groups and organizations nationwide establish and operate Dollars for Scholars scholarship programs as affiliate chapters that operate under Scholarship America's 501(c)(3) charitable status. All Dollars for Scholars affiliates govern and manage all aspects of their operations, but maintain their affiliation status with Scholarship America by following the parameters and standards set forth in an affiliation agreement. Across the nation, Scholarship America's programs - including Dollars for Scholars - have given out $2.5 billion to nearly 2 million students since its founding 50 years ago.

YouthPower365 Dollars for Scholars, formerly the Eagle River Valley Scholarship Collaboration

In 2001, several Eagle Valley scholarship sponsors came together to advocate for broader access to higher education for Eagle County students. In order to make sure that all students have equal access, a single scholarship application was developed. The collective group believes that while higher education is a big challenge, every student who has the desire to work toward a college degree should have that opportunity. The Eagle River Valley Scholarship Collaboration is working to make the dream of higher education a reality for as many students as possible.

While there are scholarships for 4-year university programs, the scholarship collaboration realizes that that is not in the plans for many students. The scholarship committee takes this into account and has awarded scholarships to students with less traditional career goals as well, including community college and vocational programs. Each scholarship donor develops their own criteria, and individual considerations and requests are respected. The collaborative scholarship application is accessible for every high school graduate in our community.

About the YouthPower365

At YouthPower365, we aspire to serve every child every day in the Vail Valley.  We currently serve over 4,000 youth in direct programming and we impact every child in every classroom through helping raise the academic performance of students. For each child with whom we work, we see an improved educational demeanor that ripples outward to positively impact the overall educational atmosphere in all our classrooms.

Whether it's early childhood education, after school programming, Girl PowHER, PwrHrs, Dollars for Scholars, or any of the more than 15 programs we offer in Eagle County, we strive every day to raise the quality of life, health, and education for young people all throughout the valley.

In coming years, under the banner of our new brand identity, we seek to empower an even larger number of children, and multiply the effects of creating a positive culture of education throughout our community.

With your support, we feel our new brand puts us in a position to more clearly communicate our goals and our identity. We look forward to working with you as we take our organization into the future for the benefit of all the young people of our valley.
